This quick ragù is so easy to put together and packed with flavor! This is something I make often when my picky eaters are protesting dinner. There is very little prep involved and it comes together in 30 mins.

Sausage Ragù

A simple, quick and very flavorful pasta sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb Ground Sweet Sausage
  • 1-28 oz can San Marzano Tomatoes
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1/3 cup white wine
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • S&P to taste
  • Fresh basil
  • 1 lb pasta
  • Optional: Mozzarella

Instructions

  • To a sauté pan, add diced carrots, celery and onion. Sauté for a few minutes and then add in ground sausage.
  • Brown the sausage and then add in tomato paste. Cook the tomato paste for a minute or two and then deglaze the pan with white wine. Making sure to scrape all of the brown bits off the bottom of the pan.
  • Add in the puréed tomatoes, season with salt and pepper and add fresh basil. Stir to combine, cover and cook for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Boil 1 pound of pasta to al dente. Add the pasta to the pan with the sauce, stir to coat the pasta and sauce. At this point you can add mozzarella or just eat it the way it is!
