- 3 28oz cans San Marzano Tomatoes, pureed
- 1/2 onion, diced
- Fresh Basil
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- Olive Oil for the Pan
Purée the tomatoes with either an immersion blender or a traditional blender.Into a Dutch oven, add olive oil and onion. Sauté until soft. Add tomatoes, salt and pepper and fresh basil.Bring the tomatoes up to a boil, stir and lower the flame to low medium. Cook for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
