Basic Sunday Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 3 28oz cans San Marzano Tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • Fresh Basil
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Olive Oil for the Pan

Instructions
 

  • Purée the tomatoes with either an immersion blender or a traditional blender.
    Into a Dutch oven, add olive oil and onion. Sauté until soft.  Add tomatoes, salt and pepper and fresh basil.
    Bring the tomatoes up to a boil, stir and lower the flame to low medium. Cook for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
