It’s apple season! These little tarts are so easy to make and look like you bought them at a bakery! You don’t need to be a master baker to make these and all you need is a few ingredients.

Apple Crisp Tarts

The perfect Fall dessert for Apple season!

Ingredients

  • 4 Medium sized Apples, cored and diced I'm using a mix of Golden Delicious & Macintosh
  • 1/2 tbsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1 tsp Cardamom
  • Pinch Ground Allspice
  • 1/3 cup Dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 1 tbsp AP Flour
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

Crisp Topping

  • 1/4 cup Flour
  • 1/3 cup Rolled oats
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter, Melted
  • Pinch of salt

Crust

  • 1 Sheet puff pastry
  • 1 Egg for egg wash

Instructions

  • Add apples to a bowl and squeeze lemon juice on top.
  • To a sauté pan add butter and melt.
  • Add in the apples, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cardamom and salt. Cook until slightly softened and caramelized. Set aside to cool.
  • Mix all of the crisp ingredients together and set aside.
  • Roll out puff pastry and cut into 12 equal portions. Using a cupcake pan, place each piece of puff pastry into each well and press down.
  • Add approximately 1 1/2 Tbsp of Apple filling and top with a crumble. Brush the exposed crust with egg wash.
  • Bake at 375°F for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.
