Apple Crisp Tarts
It’s apple season! These little tarts are so easy to make and look like you bought them at a bakery! You don’t need to be a master baker to make these and all you need is a few ingredients.
Apple Crisp Tarts
The perfect Fall dessert for Apple season!
Ingredients
- 4 Medium sized Apples, cored and diced I'm using a mix of Golden Delicious & Macintosh
- 1/2 tbsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Ground Nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp Ground Ginger
- 1 tsp Cardamom
- Pinch Ground Allspice
- 1/3 cup Dark brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 4 tbsp Unsalted Butter
- 1 tbsp AP Flour
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
Crisp Topping
- 1/4 cup Flour
- 1/3 cup Rolled oats
- 2 tbsp Brown sugar
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 2 tbsp Unsalted butter, Melted
- Pinch of salt
Crust
- 1 Sheet puff pastry
- 1 Egg for egg wash
Instructions
- Add apples to a bowl and squeeze lemon juice on top.
- To a sauté pan add butter and melt.
- Add in the apples, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cardamom and salt. Cook until slightly softened and caramelized. Set aside to cool.
- Mix all of the crisp ingredients together and set aside.
- Roll out puff pastry and cut into 12 equal portions. Using a cupcake pan, place each piece of puff pastry into each well and press down.
- Add approximately 1 1/2 Tbsp of Apple filling and top with a crumble. Brush the exposed crust with egg wash.
- Bake at 375°F for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.
