Blue Crab with Spaghetti
This is a dish I grew up eating. Friday nights were for fish dishes and this was a staple in our family. But as prices rose on blue crabs, it became less and less a staple and more of a treat every once in a while. Such a simple dish but packed with amazing crab flavor!
Blue Crab with Spaghetti
Ingredients
- 6 Blue Crabs, top shell removed
- 1 28oz Can of Whole San Marzano Tomatoes, pureed
- 1 14oz Can Whole Baby Roma tomatoes
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1/4 – 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
- Chopped Fresh Parsley to taste
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- 1 lb Spaghetti
Instructions
- To a large pot, add olive oil, parsley stalks, garlic and red pepper flakes. Saute until fragrant, add the crabs and saute for a couple of minutes, until they start to turn red.
- Add tomatoes, season with salt and pepper, simmer for 30 mins on medium low with a vented cover.
- When sauce is finished, remove crabs from sauce. Then add freshly chopped parsley and stir.
- Add cooked spaghetti to the sauce pot and toss to coat.
